The Canon EOS 600D is an entry-level DSLR which takes 18 MP photos and shoots FHD cinematic videos. It has a 22.3 x 14.9 mm Dual Pixel CMOS sensor and has a Canon EF/EF-S mount for the lens. Re: wich memory card for 600D. Canon writes full HD video at the rate of about 5.3 MB/sec, making 30 MB/sec cards an overkill. Even branded class 6 cards easily handle such rate. The number of shots you can take in a burst depends pretty much only on the size of the camera's internal buffer.

I am really impressed with the way the Canon DSLR hack – Magic Lantern – has recently been progressing. Enabling video on cameras that didn’t have a video mode is a miracle in itself! (50D). Putting all the settings into a menu system on the camera rather than in a Windows app like PTools with the GH2 hack – also pretty good.

Canon 600d or 650d are indeed passed. Why not go for at least a 800d or 77d. There is replacement for the 800d coming (850d) but cost double the price and maybe not worth while for AP. I guess a 250d may also be good, pretty much like an 800d but has less weight.

Re: Canon 600d crop/zoom question. The 5D II has a larger sensor than that of the 600D. The 5D II's sensor is called "full frame" because it is the same size as a frame of 35mm film (24mm x 36mm). Canon APS-C cameras have a sensor that is 1.6 times smaller than full frame - (15mm x 22.5mm).
